Nine Million Bicycles讲述了一个来自北京的故事，融合着爵士的流行味道慢版的抒情小调。Katie Melua甜美清澈的嗓音,如丝般飘逸。就像Katie Melua说的：I like this song because it is a simple juxtaposition of a trivial idea against an important idea。是啊，喜爱就好，不需要理由。她恣意的唱着，因为我相信只有自然，才能流出内心的音乐，而只有恣意的活着才能自然。

今年年仅21岁的女歌手凯蒂．梅卢阿(Katie Melua)出生于前苏联的一个小国 Georgia(格鲁吉亚)。成长于莫斯科、黑海、北爱尔兰及伦敦。从小梦想可以从政或成为史学家的她，就读英国表演艺术学校时被音乐制作人Mike Batt挖掘，签入独立厂牌DRAMATICO旗下。2003年底，Katie Melua以新星的姿态涌出歌坛，首支单曲"The Closest Thing To Crazy"强登英国金榜Top 10。不久，广获好评的首张专辑《Call Of The Search》一举挤下英伦人气天后Dido、击退Norah Jones，荣获6周英国金榜后座，成为英国2004开春迄今最畅销专辑。Katie Melua，只是个十九岁的少女，却俨然成为新一代的流行爵士天后。

2005年九月，Katie发行了她的第二张录音室专辑《Piece By Piece》。新专辑首周进入英国流行音乐排行榜榜单中，便战胜了双周冠军大卫．格雷(David Gray)的专辑《Life In Slow Motion》顺利登顶。

声线兼备蓝调、民谣、爵士味道的Katie Melua，常被乐评拿来与诺拉．琼丝相提并论。而我一直觉得Katie Melua算不上是爵士歌者,只能说她融合了很多曲风点.也许就是因此更能被大众所接受. 连她自己也说我的偶像不是爵士歌手,而是民谣歌手Eva Cassidy，但她那相较甜美清澈的年轻嗓音，让人遥想起已逝的跨界流行爵士美声Eva Cassidy。据说在被Mike Batt发掘的那天，Katie所演唱的正好就是受Eva启发而学下的创作曲“Faraway Voice”......
