When you say somebody's singing is not musical, you can describe it as "out of tune". In MASH 6, Colonel Potter said to his two doctors when they were singing : "Did you realize that you are singing two entirely different operas, and they are both out of tune?" Major Margaret told Pierce that "your have a grating voice" when Pierce's singing bothered her.
