Google share price rockets on first day

Following on from the announcement yesterday that Google shares were to be initally offered at just $85 a share, way under their previous speculated value, they have now rocketed up in value on the day they started trading.Nearly 20 million class A shares were sold to bidders yesterday, and already these investors will be seeing a return. Although starting at $85 in value, shares are now trading at around the $100 per share value, nearly a 20% rise.The inital value of shares sold by the company was around $1.2 billion, and that of shareholders was close to $500 million. So not a bad day for Google in all. It'll be interesting to see where they go from here.
