Spain (14) - Toledo

(2011-06-10 18:56:22) 下一个
Today was our day to go to Toledo. Having been populated since the Bronze Age, Toledo grew in importance during Roman times, and is the former capitals of the Spanish Empire until 1561. You can either take a bus or train to Toledo. We took the bus because it was a lot cheaper and the journey was only slightly longer (45 minutes vs. 30 minutes).

1. The main church (Catedral Primada) is really nice but they didn't allow any photo inside.

From city center (Plaza de Zocodover), we took a local bus (#71) to go to Parador de Turismo which has magnificent views of the city. The bus driver didn't speak any English, but seeing we were obviously tourists, he figured we probably wanted to get off at Parador de Turismo, so he stopped us when we wanted to get off early (there was no sign at some of the bus stops, so we didn't know if we had passed Parador de Turismo or not).

We took the same bus back an hour later, but instead of getting off at the city center, we got off at Puente de San Martín (San Martin Bridge), entered the city through the bridge and just wandered around.
