有关Comprehensive Immigration Reform的最新消息 By: Beth Robertie, Esq. The President will begin meeting with key lawmakers today to encourage a compromise on comprehensive immigration reform. While there has been much discussion of a variety of pieces of legislation, the Senate is currently locked in a stalemate over the issue, and Senate leaders are calling for more active participation from the President in the debate. While the President has declined to back one specific proposal, he has stated in recent addresses his desire to increase the number of green cards that can lead to citizenship and increase the number of visas for foreign-born workers in highly-skilled fields (the H1B visa, for example). He has also stated that he wants a temporary worker program that will allow those workers a path to citizenship. In comments yesterday, President Bush rebuked the idea of massive deportation of undocumented aliens, noting that the idea is “unrealistic.” For the White House fact sheet on comprehensive immigration reform, please click here. www.Fan-Law.com CALIFORNIA : Fan, Fitzpatrick & Thompson, LLP. 370 E.
