Less Than 1400 H-1Bs Left for 2006 As most of you know, the H-1B Visa Reform Act of 2004 made available 20,000 H-1B visas for graduates of U.S. academic institutions with a Master’s degree or higher. This number is in addition to the 65,000 H-1B visas available for highly skilled temporary workers, which has already been exhausted for the 2006 fiscal year. According to the most recent information available, less than 1,400 of these 20,000 visas remain. If you are a graduate of a U.S. academic institution with a Masters or higher level of education and you plan on applying for an H-1B visa for this fiscal year, you must act now!
