China went from "everything belongs to king" pre 1911, to "everything belongs to lords" 1911-1949, to "everything belongs to everyone" 1949-1979. The "everything to everyone" stage was proven too much an idea than a reality, and the last 20 years it went back to "something belongs to someone", which is what it should be, but one unfortunate consequence is that there was an inverse pyramid structure created where a very small number of governing class took away the most majority of the common wealth.
