帕瓦罗蒂与他的朋友艾羅斯·拉瑪佐第[2]同台演唱，舞台左侧，有一群利比里亚的孩子们在伴唱（此时未出场）。
1998年，为援救处于利比里亚的战火中的孩子，帕瓦罗蒂与他的朋友们，在他的家乡Modena，举办了这场慈善音乐会

 这首歌，是由意大利流行歌星艾羅斯·拉瑪佐第自己作词曲，并亲自演唱。阅读了他的个人经历（维基英文版[2]较为详细）后，方才知道他原是那么一个普普通通的罗马街边男孩，思想却又那么独特而理性，还幸运地遇上了一群伯乐。。。

 
 翻译时，当跳出艾羅斯的“理想主义者”和“苦苦沉思者”那两词时，一瞬间，就像西斯廷教堂[6]天顶上米开朗基罗画的那幅“上帝创造了亚当”中的两只手，脑海中划过一道闪电，一种神奇的力量，将自己的思想同艾羅斯的思想连到了一起。是的，是的！东方的思想和西方的思想是可以贴得那么近的，尽管那将是一个缓慢的历史过程。那一天，我有点儿发疯似地反复听着这首歌，心中久久难以平静。。。

 那是去年五月，西斯廷教堂[6]那个大厅很高很高（如果没误读文献的话，有20.7米高），小雨在那幅巨画下仰观了好一阵子，脖子酸了，腿也酸了，就坐到了大厅角落里的长凳上继续仰观，还得千方百计地避开工作人员，他们仍在赶鸟似地催促着熙熙攘嚷、驻足不前的人群，反复礼貌地说着“谢绝摄影”，可闪光灯还是这里那里，继续闪个不停，小雨忍不住暗暗窃笑。。。

 这首歌，最后那段歌词，实在太难译了。原意大利译者（他将歌词从意大利语译到了英语）也无法译出。我们俩就这样被搁浅在这浩瀚无边的横跨东西方的语言大海上的一个小岛，期待着，期待着。。。

 如果今天，帕瓦罗蒂还在人间，那该有多好，他会与艾羅斯同台高唱一首他创作的新歌。

 如果今天，帕瓦罗蒂还在人间，那该有多好，他会与崔健同台高唱“一无所有”。

 如果今天，帕瓦罗蒂还在人间，那该有多好，他会看到，“和平鸽的理念”已经诞生。。。

 祝愿在我们这可爱的地球上，和平树四季常青，和平鸽五洲高飞。。。
