OMAHA, Neb., May 5 (Reuters) - A shareholder proposal intended to force Warren Buffett\'s Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRKa.N: Quote, Profile, Research (BRKb.N: Quote, Profile, Research to divest its stake in PetroChina Co. (0857.HK: Quote, Profile, Research was likely to fail by a wide margin, Berkshire said at its annual meeting on Saturday.
As of May 2, of those stating a preference, just 1.8 percent of shares favored the proposal, while 98.2 percent opposed it.
