As an undergraduate student in NC, I am graduating in this December. What and where is my future after I got my degree?
Classmates are applying jobs to big 4 companies, but I want to get my CPA before applying any jobs. My friend A suggests me to get a job in big 4 companies, “they will pay your fees for the CPA exams”, A said. But I heard the job in big 4 companies are very stressful, I am not sure I can take the CPA exam under such big stress. “CPAs make a lot of money, so, go get your CPA first if you can financially support yourself during the time you take your exams”, my best friend Cat in China told me, “Once you got a job, you will spend a lot of time trying to perform the best, after a while, you don’t want to sit back to school anymore, and you loss the energy to get your CPA.” What she said is true, I have to agree with her. I will have a better future with my CPA, and since I don’t have a lot of work experience, my education is the best way to compete with others.
Then, what kind of review classes should I have? Online, in class, or self-study? I am a visual person, I can learn things much faster by seeing (observe) it, I need to have some kind of lecture. But there are so many companies now have all different kind of review classes with different prices, which one should I choose? After all, what is the average passing rate? How many times I need to sit in the exam before I pass it? L
Life is full of challenges; I guess getting my CPA license will be one of them.
