今年洛杉矶的夏天都很凉爽，入秋后更是温度超底。从昨天起突然阳光灿烂，温度巨升，今天便温暖如夏了，这是典型的北美洲的印第安之夏。印第安之夏一般都在10月份，在12月份出现印第安之夏也可见气候之异常，有点“冬天里的夏天”之美妙神话般的感觉了。我们北上到了小城北岭。北岭的聚福楼是这一带不错的中餐馆。和在北岭念书的女儿汇合，来一个家庭周末小酌。[阅读全文]

吃苦瓜是到美国后才开始的。苦瓜的长相让我想起小时候在上海吃的金柃子，都有凹凸不平的皮。上海人吃金柃子时，只吃那黄灿灿的子，微甜，瓜皮和瓜肉都是不吃的。因为是苦的，我们家对吃苦瓜没有热情。后来听说苦瓜能降火，就在某年的夏天买了几根，刚烧好的时候吃几片，过后就无人问津了。直到上周末，试了苦瓜炒牛肚和苦瓜炒叉烧，结果大受欢迎，端上台面不[阅读全文]

一直对肿瘤血管的产生比较感兴趣。绝大多数肿瘤都有很高密度的肿瘤血管，这些血管是肿瘤细胞能获取营养和快速生长的关键。最近一期的《自然》有数篇论文阐述了这方面研究的新发现。多形性胶质母细胞瘤[Glioblastomamultiforme(GBM)]是一种高度恶性的大脑肿瘤，其特点是肿瘤血管密度极高。

四喜烤夫是上海的经典本帮家常菜，其中的四喜是指冬笋，香菇，金针菜，和木耳。今天，LP把昨天买的老豆腐切成片，俺就把它们放在油锅里炸黄，再放入冬笋，香菇，金针菜，和木耳翻炒。最后加酱油和糖调味，结果味道很不错，俺自创的四喜豆腐就这样诞生了。
四喜豆腐随着年龄增大，慢慢喜欢吃蔬菜了。特别是晚饭，量逐步减少，且以蔬菜为主食了。
