This Is Just To Say

William Carlos Williams

I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox

and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast

Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold

Alexander Shaumyan - Nice and simple. But that's about it for me. I don't see any deep poetic message here. I'm reminded of the story in 2016  when a teenager left a pair of glasses on floor of San Francisco’s Museum of Modern Art as a prank, leading some to think they were an exhibit.   As Bukowski would say: “Great art is horseshit, buy tacos.”7 months ago

Sharp cheddar

The girl on a ladder
in a red dress
reaches for sharp cheddar
that sits on top of a mess
in the hushed attic
who often radiates static
The dome skylight sharpens the moonlight
and puts a scared mouse in the spotlight
