命运羞辱人眼白， When, in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes,
我独向隅被弃态 I all alone beweep my outcast state
徒扰聋天哭无赖 And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries
低看自己咒命乖，And look upon myself and curse my fate,
愿己如人多期待 Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,
也效某人友似海，Featured like him, like him with friends possess'd,
羡此才华彼胸怀，Desiring this man's art and that man's scope,
敝帚自珍帚不在； With what I most enjoy contented least;
当此愁思自怨艾，Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising,
念你欣喜释垒块， Haply I think on thee, and then my state,
好似云雀破晓霾 Like to the lark at break of day arising
直上天门圣歌凯； From sullen earth, sings hymns at heaven's gate;
忆你珍爱宝藏开 For thy sweet love remember'd such wealth brings
换我王位不屑改。 That then I scorn to change my state with kings.
