- litterbag n. A bag used, as in an automobile, for disposal of trash.

- litterbug n. Informal One who litters public areas with waste materials.

- littermate n. One member of a given litter of animal offspring.

 

- littoral adj. Of or on a shore, especially a seashore: a littoral property;

  the littoral biogeographic zone. n. 1. A coastal region; a shore. 2. The

  region or zone between the limits of high and low tides.

  

- live down To overcome or reduce the shame of (a misdeed, for example) over a

  period of time.

  

- liver extract n. A dry brownish powder containing the soluble thermolabile

  fraction of mammalian livers that is capable of stimulating the production of

  red blood cells.

  

- liver spot n. A benign, localized brownish patch on the skin, often occurring

  in old age and usually in fair-skinned people with sun-damaged skin. Also

  called age spot.
