递交I-485，是不是一定要等5年才能递交？

Question: 递交I-485，现在排期是2003年1月，是不是一定要等5年才能递交？
中间可以换工作，但不能换研究方向。这里的研究方向范围有多宽？比如有机化学研究药物的合成，那么以后所换的工作也必须是这个吗？

Answer: The NIW application is in the EB2, so you must wait for the EB2 visa becoming "current" to submit your I485 application. It may not have to be 5 years, but it can be more then 2 years.

Here, the job change is in the "same field". There is no exact defination of the "field". But common sense tald us it should not be too far way.
