如题，专门瞎掰关于申请美国绿卡的事儿……有时也聊聊“挨踢”

时事摘要：
美国国务院在七月份的 Visa Bulletin 中(dated 6/12/07)宣布所有的 EB 类 (except Other Workers) 都 Current，即意味着从七月一日起所有的申请人都能 file I-485。
七月二日，DOS 和 USCIS 分别通告，2007年度的所有移民指标均已分完，从即日起，不再接收 I-485。
七月十七日，DOS 撤回二日之 Update，而 USCIS 亦通告，将继续接受 I-485 申请并适用现行费率直止 8/17/2007。
手把手帮着填 I-485 和 G-325A

移民局又开闸了，于是大伙儿全来趟这浑水。不管是 140 还没填的，抑或是 pending 的，更不要说批了的了，尤其是七月二号没赶上车的，大家一齐冲向 485 高地。
485 填表战，又开始了！
有的同学过于紧张，简单的问题也不敢把握，向白老师 (xiaobaitu, 呢称 XBT, 又称小白兔 JJ 或 小白兔 MM) 求助的贴子是满天飞呀！就象北京春天的柳絮。
老师和系主任咬过好几次耳朵，建议挂个咨询公司的牌子，向白老师问一个问题的收一毛钱，＂在线等＂的算 Premium Service 多收五分。系主任胆子太小，今天老师还说，我们动手罢！他却总说道Ｎｏ！——这是洋话，你们不懂的。否则早已发了。
所以老师抄起剪子和浆糊，助白老师和其他大侠一鼻之力。
还没摸到北的同学，请到那边去下载 I-485 表格 Form I-485 (Rev. 12/03/09)N Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status (Expires 12/31/2010), 说明书。费 $1,010.
填 I-485 的最基本要求，是作为申请人的你，身处美国境内，且优先日期当前。
谁是申请人？你给父母申请绿卡，你的父母分别是 I-485 的申请人；你申请绿卡带上了领导和孩子，你、你的领导、还有你的孩子分别是申请人。所以，他（们）的 I-485 是他（们）自个儿的事儿，得由他（们）自己来填、自己签字。你不能代劳。搞清楚这一点很重要。
还很重要的一点是，申请人此时此刻必须在美国。
如果你想问“能不能给在中国的太太交 I-485”，再读上面的几行，多读几遍。
关于优先日期的概念，请看这里。
哎，慢着。
有的同学就不要填了，如果你是非法入境的，或者 OOS 超出了180天。
公民的父母或配偶，超出了 180 天也没有关系。但如果是非法入境，只能等大赦。
那边矶矶喳喳，喳喳矶矶的同学注意，老师要讲重点了。
凡是老师用方括号括起来的，那都是标案，如［标准答案］。是一个字，一个字母也改不得的。金口玉言呀！同学们，一定要牢记在心！
Part 1. Information about you

以前有位叫＂王五＂的同学填了 None。结果名字被改成了＂王 NONE 五＂。这位同学当然不干了，心想：老子在这儿费了吃奶的劲儿，却便宜了八杆子打不着的王无五。于是，王同学找移民局去纠错，前后写了七七４９封信，打了九九８１通电话，好不容易才改过来。若干年过去，王同学终于熬出了移民监。收到绿卡一看，没给王同学气个半死。其上大名赫赫＂王 N. 五＂。
Address- C/O: in Care of ＂转交＂。一般不填。用别人的地址时，在这里填转件人的姓名。也有人再填一遍自己的名字。用不着么。

如果你以前交过 I-485，请一定把上面的 A# 填在这里。
Alien Number (A#) 又称 Alien Registration Number，通常在填了 I-485 之后才会有，出现在 I-485 的 Receipt Notice 上。和 SSN 一样，这个 number 跟着你不会改变的。也有人会在 I-140 的 Approval Notice 上看到，但有时 I-485 的收据上还是给你一个新的 A#.
如果你在别的 I-797 上看到了 A#，请考虑是不是你曾经在填表时，自己错填过 F-1 OPT/EAD 上的 A#，返回来的。注意：你 F1 申请 OPT 的 EAD 上的 A#，不要填在这里。

I-94 #: 包括空格前后两部分共 11 位数字。
Current USCIS Status: 这是单一选择题，答案在 Temporary Worker, Student, Exchange Scholar, Visitor 中找。挠头的同学点 Class of Admission。
Expires on (mm/dd/yyyy): F/J 依 I-94 卡填 D/S, 其它身份有具体日期。
如果身份失效，可仍填最后之身份。如果 OOS 超过 180 天，你的申请会不批，除非是公民的依附人。

分不清主申请人和副申请人的同学，请去补课。
* 对于 I-130/I-140 尚未批准时，以前是采用下面选 h 加注的方式。经过商讨、思考现予以屏弃。
[h] - I-140 Pending, 把这句话写在空白处，"Form I-140 currently pending with Receipt# LINxxxx" (LINxxxx 填你自己的号码)
[h] - I-140 和 I-485 同交，"Form I-140 being filed concurrently with this application"

这又是选择题，在给出的答案中挑一个正确的。有的同学填 F1，H4，也没有任何问题。
以 AP 入境的参考这里。
Nonimmigrant Visa Number 签证纸上右下部的红色号码，不是右上的 Control Number (有0又有0上一斜杠的)。
顺便说一句，老师在国内外签的证都是８位阿拉伯数字。

日期都是 Receipt Date，没有收据则用寄出日期。
有同学问，＂那批了的怎么写？＂都批了，你还起什么哄！
B. List your present husband/wife, all of your sons and daughters
尚未成家的同学，和尚未准备成家的同学，在第一个 Family Name 的地方填 [None]，这个问题就可以 pass 掉了。脱家带口的请接着望下瞧。

为什么会不一起申请 I-485 呢？1) 在美国生的孩子自动是公民，当然不用了；2) 领导想晚些时候再交 I-485，免得现在就有“移民倾向”；3) Follow to join.
C. 注意：包括入伍，16 岁之前不算。
伟光正同学问怎么填，老师说不知道。仁者见仁，智者见智。请同学们课下讨论，争个脸红脖子粗的没关系，但不要动手。五讲四美么！
－－什么？早改成七八个代表了？那就代表吧。
填了 CCP，就肯定拿不到绿卡了？－－Nonsense.
如果填了是 CCP，你也许要准备一下怎么来解释。这里有封样板信。
还有同学问他的 IEEE 填不填，老师说 ＂填 ＂。(老师填了 SFN, SAPPA, NYAS, PS etc 因不仅限于政治团体)
连 AAA 也没有的同学，填 [None]。有位同学忘了填，留了空，不巧又没收到 RFE，结果 I-485 被拒。教训呀！
下一页，老师没有一个选 [Yes] 的。

有个同学问：我拿过 WIC，填不填？老师认为不填也罢。

老师说过不知道了。这里有金同学提供的一个 link，值得一看。

个别同学过去为了获得签证而胡乱填表，现在要好好地读一读这个问题。

如果你的答案是 Yes，老师劝你就别交 I-485了.
不曾是 J 的同学直接答No. 完成了回国服务两年的同学，写 "No (complied from 1999/06 to 2001/07)". 申请了豁免的同学写 "No (I-612 included)".

到此为止，表就都填完了。查查没有错，就印两份出来，先签上字。留一份存底儿。替 minor 填的表，别忘了还有 I-485 的 Part 6. Signature of Person Preparing Form.
当你的孩子不足14岁时，作为家长或监护人，你可以代签。另外，还有代填人处也要签名的。详情参见＂移民局填表 ABC＂。
79岁以上的老人，可以参见上法。
如果孩子已经14岁了，就必须自己签名。
注意了，有的同学的计算机装的是 Acrobat Reader 的话，你的表是不可以 save 下来的。赶紧打，免得丢了还得重敲！
有条件的同学，可以考虑把 G－325A 打印在不同颜色的彩纸上，依此为 White, Green, Pink, Blue. 顺序一定不要乱。嫌麻烦就全白好了。
除了那张支票，还得要照片。美国的护照照片，比中国的护照照片要大。很多商店都可以照，像 CostCo，Kinkos，RiteAid，甚至邮局，基本上是立等可取。老师是 DIY, 自拍花了十九秒，用 PS 编辑又花了一小时零九分，开车去 CVS 路上十九分钟，最后花了一毛九印。
每个人要２张。带眼镜的同学注意了，如果像片上的你的眼镜反光，造成看不清你的眼睛的严重后果，那照片会要被打回来的。
别忘了在照片背后用铅笔写上你的名字(or A# if you have)，铅笔写不上的话，就用 ballpen 轻些写。
每位同学的 Supporting Documents，会略有差异，下面是个大概齐的 checking list。
I-485 寄件地址，取决于申请人的住址，与 I-130/I-140 的类别相关。
移民局在 2/25/10 更新了 I-485 的表格，以及交表地址。
新表格的版本号为 Form I-485 (Rev. 12/03/09)N Expires 12/31/2010. 原来的表格已不适用，原来 EB 的交表地址已经变更。
费用无变。
上面是单独提交的 I-485 的申请地址，与 I-130/I-140 同交的 I-485 跟着 I-130/I-140 走。
I-485 的申请费是 $1,010.
不到 14 岁的申请费，单独提交是 $930, 与家长同交为 $600.
79 岁及年高者的申请费是 $930 （Instructions 上删去了此条，但网页上仍有 -- Applicants 79 years of age or older are not charged a biometric fee; the fee total is $930）。
AP/EAD 的申请（包括延期）均无费。
另外，移民局提供了 G-1145 表格 (link)，让申请人可以通过 email 或 text message 来及时得知 I-485 的接受。申请人填完 G-1145 表格之后，用别针附在 I-485 的首页即可。
此项服务无费。
到邮局找个 Priority Mail 的 Flat Rate Envelope，填张 Delivery Confirmation 的绿条，一共是 $4.6+0.65 = $5.25。两到三天到。是否用 Certified Mail 还有 Return Receipt，同学们自己定好了。
想用 FedEx 或 UPS 等 private carriers 的同学，不要用上面的 P.O. Box 邮箱，得改成街道地址，带门牌号儿的。
扯两句关于填表的闲谈。Information 贵在真实，其实做人不也是？不是有同学报 H1 时填高了工资，签证时报底了学位，现在不正愁得不可开锅？老师没有幸灾乐祸之意，只是觉得倘若给那样做的同学 second chance，他们一定回 make different decision。一孔之见了。
时间有限，老师难免讲一漏十，请多多包涵。未及牵扯进来的，同学们请先查查老贴。看到头顶上的＂输入关键词＂了么？敲入要找的信息，回车就行了。想查白老师的回复，用关键词 "xiaobaitu"，勾＂按作者＂后面的方框框，再回车，就行了。
耐点心，仔细查，十有八九你会找到答案的。实在是找不到答案时，再去麻烦白老师。想想真的是不容易，几多风雨呀。铁打的教室，流水的学生，仍旧兢兢业业坚守在这里，胖大海都不知泡掉了几大包。喔，是键盘都不知使坏了多少个。瞧瞧首页头顶上的那四张照片，有谁能象白老师那样？

当你的孩子不足14岁时，作为家长或监护人，你可以代签。另外，还有代填人处也要签名的。详情参见＂移民局填表 ABC＂。
79岁以上的老人，可以参见上法。
如果孩子已经14岁了，就必须自己签名。
注意了，有的同学的计算机装的是 Acrobat Reader 的话，你的表是不可以 save 下来的。赶紧打，免得丢了还得重敲！
除了那张支票，还得要照片。美国的护照照片，比中国的护照照片要大。很多商店都可以照，像 CostCo，Kinkos，RiteAid，甚至邮局，基本上是立等可取。老师是 DIY, 自拍花了十九秒，用 PS 编辑又花了一小时零九分，开车去 CVS 路上十九分钟，最后花了一毛九印。
每个人要２张。带眼镜的同学注意了，如果像片上的你的眼镜反光，造成看不清你的眼睛的严重后果，那照片会要被打回来的。
别忘了在照片背后用铅笔写上你的名字(or A# if you have)，铅笔写不上的话，就用 ballpen 轻些写。

上面是单独提交的 I-485 的申请地址，与 I-130/I-140 同交的 I-485 跟着 I-130/I-140 走。
I-485 的申请费是 $1,010.
不到 14 岁的申请费，单独提交是 $930, 与家长同交为 $600.
79 岁及年高者的申请费是 $930 （Instructions 上删去了此条，但网页上仍有 -- Applicants 79 years of age or older are not charged a biometric fee; the fee total is $930）。
AP/EAD 的申请（包括延期）均无费。
另外，移民局提供了 G-1145 表格 (link)，让申请人可以通过 email 或 text message 来及时得知 I-485 的接受。申请人填完 G-1145 表格之后，用别针附在 I-485 的首页即可。
此项服务无费。
到邮局找个 Priority Mail 的 Flat Rate Envelope，填张 Delivery Confirmation 的绿条，一共是 $4.6+0.65 = $5.25。两到三天到。是否用 Certified Mail 还有 Return Receipt，同学们自己定好了。
想用 FedEx 或 UPS 等 private carriers 的同学，不要用上面的 P.O. Box 邮箱，得改成街道地址，带门牌号儿的。
扯两句关于填表的闲谈。Information 贵在真实，其实做人不也是？不是有同学报 H1 时填高了工资，签证时报底了学位，现在不正愁得不可开锅？老师没有幸灾乐祸之意，只是觉得倘若给那样做的同学 second chance，他们一定回 make different decision。一孔之见了。
时间有限，老师难免讲一漏十，请多多包涵。未及牵扯进来的，同学们请先查查老贴。看到头顶上的＂输入关键词＂了么？敲入要找的信息，回车就行了。想查白老师的回复，用关键词 "xiaobaitu"，勾＂按作者＂后面的方框框，再回车，就行了。
