What a day

What a day. Not many days like this, so intimate, so rich, so much going on.

 

In the morning, Jennifer’s assistant emailed me blaming us for the confusing communication instead of thinking about their own internal management mess. I emailed back, not a happy start.

 

Followed by Vikki’s 2 emails saying two works they sent to us on Monday had to be cancelled and sent to somebody else. Why? Don’t know. I responded. I responded in a way of showing my understanding and still trying to keep them. With Vikki’s quick help, I managed to talk to the direct person and mentioned the reason they would want to stay with us. With all the good manners I could have. J Truly. At 3pm in the afternoon, she called back and said we can keep the work!!!

 

Around lunch time, Allan called and had an emergency with deadline the very night BJ time. While, he gave me all the authorization to do anything at any cost to have the case filed. So as can be imagined, phone calls again with everybody. And it was taken care of last night.

 

Then John called for an urgent favor – on some translation he needs to have that moment.

 

At 4:30pm, I attended the first CEO board meeting, it was very nice – so many intelligence flowing around the table, and smart, hard working people with a lot of creativities. People discuss their issues and give each other opinions. Really enjoyed it. So I will be a member – being solo for too long and finally found where I belong to.

 

When I was driving away from Mountain View – where I had the CEO board meeting, it was a very warm day, a lot of people came out, walking on the street, having dinner outside the restaurants, couples holding hands, so sunny, warm and relaxing. I felt tired. By watching them, I realized completely why people are different, why people get different things in their lives – by making different choices - choosing to sit in the office or walking on the street.

 

No, the day did not end like that yet.

 

Called Zheng to have more discussion at 10pm on internal management, then Mandy called, at the same time, got an email from Lars (I think he and his gf broke up) talking about trip to Europe, and another email from Andy (whose parents I met first J - another hilarious story maybe I will write about some day).

 

Went to bed at 12am with every nerve still standing up J
