苍海茫茫无自弃, 红尘滚滚有君知
这是我的朋友Jim读大学时写的，感觉很紧凑，生动。他没有博客的，也不曾发在网上，所以这应该是唯一一份了(征得了他的同意，尽管我拒绝把我的博客地址给他。：P)
他在高中和大学期间写了不少东西(全是英文作品)，大学毕业后就基本不写了。他很向往古代江湖生活，打杀流浪的，于是写了一个江湖系列，居然也是用的英文，闻所未闻吧？(他自己说是因为他中文太差了。) 等他把它们找出来，我就也贴这里好了(据说有可能 lost for good 了。。。)
他的历任女友都是华裔，虽然有白人女孩子向他表示过。他认为他和白人女孩子就好像两个品种，他是狗，人家是猫，怎么可能在一起呢？这人挺有趣吧？我打算我的小说里的一个人物要用上他的一些性格特点什么的。

I just woke up, kinda scared, and had a nightmare again, this one is pretty futuristic. And it has some thing called “Xuan2 Ji1” in Zen. They are somewhere hidden in this story. It is up to you to discover it J
Just like any other dreams, it is kinda convoluted, but wait, this one is better, since it is recursive as well. Too bad I can’t remember too much of it now…

I always thought to myself. I never did remember who I was, or what I was couple of hundred years back. But somehow I can remember the old buildings I used to live in. It must be very interesting to see myself back in the 2000’s.
I just started my new job. I am a soldier at a training boot-camp. The camp is way in the wilderness. We have electrical fences around the training facility. We have heard that there are wild beasts outside and were told never to venture out. There are a lot of cool stuff to learn here, new machines, and new surviving techniques. I didn’t remember what happened here. I didn’t remember what am I suppose to learn in this training ground.
At night I usually wander around in the yard, and through the fences I see some green eyes looking in. I wonder what those are. I go outside every night, just to gaze at the green eyes gazing back at me. There is something dangerous and mysterious about them. I thought they are beautiful.
The first training class they gave us whole bunch of new tools. A wearable computer looked like an arm-band. A visor with computer screens on the glasses, and the key board was on your pants, so when you sat down you can type letters into your wearable keyboard. I thought this was heaven; I was finally in touch with the coolest and the latest technology. There were few gadgets, the most interesting one was a time machine. It was a delicate wrist watch; our trainer told us that if we can rewind it to certain date and time, and if we hit the time-capsule button, we will be able to go back to the history. Interesting, I thought.
The day is over, I am really tired. Once again my curiosity gets the best of me. And somehow I maneuver around the guard and get to the outside. I am wearing my high tech gear. I want to know what is outside of the fence.
It is actually quite hilly. Small mounts here and there, and also there is a pond of the size of the swimming pool. There are some stuff swimming inside the pond, but I can not make out what is in it.
I see something moving in the dark, the green eyes again. What are those? Are they dangerous? I ponder. The green eyes move swiftly, as I approach closer, close enough to find out it is a bear-like creature. It is looking straight into my eyes. My god! He is going to eat me! I look back at my training facility, it is too far away. I have to be mad to come out this far. Instinct pushed me to make a mad dash towards it. I run like crazy. Those green eyes are approaching me, closer and closer. I can see the beast’s mouth is dripping with saliva. I wish I can escape. Where is the pond, maybe the beast can’t swim? As I was looking for the pond, amazingly, it is right besides me, seems like the pond just moved several hundred yards, but I didn’t give a second thought and jump straight in. The pond is only 1.5 meters deep. I can see the beast standing on the bank of the pond and looking out at me. Hew!! I was glad that he didn’t jump in. all of the sudden, the water rises from the pool and I saw 2 pairs of green eyes appeared from the surface. They are at the end of the pond on the other side. You gotta be kidding me… I turn around and start to swim. But they are moving much faster in the water than on the ground. In couple of seconds they are going to catch me…
I am going to die, NO!!!! Now I need to rewind in my dream. This is weird, somehow, I know I was in a dream, even though I am dreaming, and I keep telling myself that I need to rewind at this point…
Now I am back at the outside again, good thing that my dream didn’t take me all the way to the beginning so I have to go through the training tour again, I am such an impatient guy, that would have killed me. I am back to the escaping part, where the green eyed bear-like beast is chasing me down. I need to find an escape! I run like crazy. That green eyes is approaching me, closer and closer, I can see the beast’s mouth is dripping with saliva. I wish I can escape. There has to be someway. Then I look down at my watch. Yes!!! I can go back in time!! I rewind my watch while running, obviously I don’t know what year is that I rewind to. The beast is really close to me now. At the point when the beast’s sharp teeth is about to sink in my body, I hit the time-capsule button. A light covers me. The watch drops on the ground. I disappeared…
The watch transfers me back to my current time, the 2000’s. How do I know? Because the buildings all looked pretty familiar to the old visions of my past life. I was with my family. We were living in the sky-scraper apartment in a big city. My mom was cooking dinner, she still looked the same! J My dad was helping her.
We all needed to go to the city, and I was the driver. I was going on a ramp onto the freeway. Something funny was going on, it seemed like my car was moving really slow going up on the ramp. It is sloping up, that must be why, I thought. I stepped on the gas and the engine hummed, but we were not moving. Why? I thought to myself. Then I saw a branch flew pass the car window. And the car in front of me was blown to the side by the wind. The wind is really horrendous! I turned up the radio, and they announced that the flood of the millennium was coming, there would be 10 meter deep water in the city in 30 minutes, and they were yelling frantically that we all should get to the high grounds. I turned around and drove madly onto the grass, heading back home. Somehow I managed to go through the streets and back to our apartment. We all dashed toward the apartment, and there are 2 elevators to get up. One is for cargo, the other one is for passengers. We took the passenger elevator. And all of us got on top safely. My dad all of the sudden yelled at me. He said, Hey! We can get the car up in time. Yeah, it wouldn’t be a very good idea to have your car soaked in flood. I didn’t give a second thought on the danger involved and went downstairs. I saw my car, and ran towards it. I saw a middle aged man holding his young daughter’s hand and walked toward the elevator, he was crying to his daughter, “my crops… my crops…” I felt really sad for him.
I got in the car and drove it all the way to the cargo elevator. And push the up button. But the elevator didn’t come down. I took a look at my watch; it was about 3 minutes before the flood gets into the city. I was frantic. I ran towards the passenger elevator, and I pushed the up button. The elevator didn’t come down. I pushed, knocked and kicked. It won’t come down. I looked at the surveillance camera on the wall. And can almost feel that the people monitoring the camera were laughing at me. Then the flood came, there was a loud crash, and all of the sudden the world was silent, I looked up at the top of the building from beneath the water. I saw people screaming, but I couldn’t hear them, the world above the water was so chaotic, but the bottom of the water is quiet, really really quiet. Then I thought about my parents. I felt sorry for them, for losing their son.
