领着去办美国签证（新） - pjiang -

美国非移民签证的新申请表格 DS-160 在沈阳领馆试行之后，从下月（2010年3月）开始，将在全国正式实行。
新的 DS-160 表格取代了以前的 DS-156、DS-157 和 DS-158 等表格，只能在网上填写。
DS-160 适用于除 K-1/2 (fiancee) 以及 E-1/2 (Treaty Trader) 的所有非移民签证的申请。

在3月1日之前，申请人可以提交 DS-160 表格，也可以仍使用老的 DS-156 表格。找不到 DS-157 和 DS-158 表格的，可以去参考本人的博文。

除了在线填表，非移民签证的申请还包括预约签证（购买电话卡）、交纳申请费和签证面试。详情见另文。

注意事项：

1. 取决于申请人的个人背景，填完表格所需的时间以小时计算。在填完表格的过程当中，你会需要不时地存盘。当你不是在自己的计算机上（如网吧）操作时，别忘了自备优盘。
   
2. 另外，在申请表格填写完毕，在线提交之后，美国国务院会产生一个带条形码的页面，需要你打印出来。如果不方便打印，可以先存盘不提交。
   
3. 还有，你需要上传一张 JPG 格式的数码照片，该照片将同时印在条形码页面上，供面试时用。数码照片以不超过 1M 为佳，将被查验看是否符合标准。如果你没有数码照片或不合标准，可以不上传照片而打印条形码页面（Trick 在下面）。面试前，将常规冲印的两寸见方的照片，贴于条形码页面的 "X" 处。
   

好了，下面开始填表了。非移民签证申请的网址在：

当你点击上面的连接时，你看到的是技术要求的告示页，径直点击下方的 "Start Application" 开始。
如果你留意到了右上角的 "Select Tooltip Language", 可以自选＂中文（简体）＂。否则，在你选定申请签证的面试领馆之后，系统亦将会自动设定。

在 Getting Started 部分，首先在 Step 1 中选择 "Beijing, China", 这是确定你将去申请签证面试的领馆，同时也将求助设置为中文显示。
从下一页开始，当你将鼠标移到某些英文语句上并稍做停留时，你将看到其中文翻译。

当你有数码照片时，可以点下面的 "Test Photo" 来测试你的照片是否符合规定。
数码照片必须是 JPG 格式，彩色截图见方，象素在 600-1200 之间。具体要求（包括打印）详见 http://travel.state.gov/visa/guide/guide_3882.html.
当你看到 Photo passed quality standards 时，你的照片被认可了。
最好有心理准备，很多照片被打回来了。用 640 而不是 5M 的档位拍的照片，通过的概率要大。

当你的照片搞定之后，在Step 2 中选 A 项开始新的申请，或者 B 项继续上一次申请。
在选 B 项继续上一次存盘的申请时，你要输入＂姓＂的前五个字母，以及生日的年份，以做验证。

从现在开始，你要注意每一个页面的页头名称。
所有页头名称也将列在左侧，以做快速定位。另外还有抬头的菜单栏。
所有的签证申请都包含如下十部分：个人信息，地址和电话，护照，旅行，随行人员，以往的美国旅行，美国联系方式，家庭，工作/教育/培训，安全与背景。
学习或工作，还分别另外有附加表格。

所有表格的填项，只能使用英文，只有一项用中文填写姓名（见 1-1）。另外，带去面试的确认页，也要手书中文信息。
凡是没有答案的问题，一定要勾 [x] Does Not Apply 项。
另外，DS-160 的表格，交互性强。那就是，根据申请人的不同申请及背景，提问会有差异。下面揽括的所有问题，你不一定能全部遇到。没有关系，这并不意味着你填少了表。

1-1. Personal Information 1 （个人信息）
Surnames －姓
Given Names －名
Full Name in Native Alphabet －以中文习惯填写中文姓名（如＂王小五＂）
这里可以输入中文。

Q: Have you ever used other names (i.e., maiden, religious, professional, alias, etc.)?
姓名有三个字或更多的同学，要答 "Yes". 如王老五同学（王五同学就不用了）。
当你点击 "Yes" 之后，又有新的问题展开出来。
在 "Other Surnames Used (maiden, religious, professional, aliases, etc.) " 处填姓（复姓中间留空格），如 SI MA （司马）。
在 "Other Given Names Used" 处填名，中间留空格，如 LAO WU.

这是新表格的一个特点。在每一页的开始，只问申请人有限的几个问题。只有需要更多的信息时，才会展开出更多的问题来。

这是你的第一页，先练习一下存盘，点下面中间的磁盘符。如果能自定文件名，不妨更名为 "JP021410BJ.dat", 并选定路径名，便于记忆。
系统的文件名如 CEACAA0001S1M1.dat 是随机的且容易混淆。
以后，每进行到下一页之前，一定要先存盘。每一页都存一次。
如果当前页所填的信息不全，存盘时会有警告。

存盘完后继续到下一页。

这里的主申请人，和美国境内的依附人身份是相对的。凡是申请依附人身份的签证，都不是主申请人，如 F-2, H-4, J-2, TD 等等。
主申请人是指 B-1/2, F-1, H-1b, J-1, TN etc.

主申请人的赴美目的 (Purpose of Trip to U.S.) 常见的有：
TOURIST/PERSONAL TRAVEL VISITOR (B2)
STUDENT/EXCHANGE VISA (F, J, M, Q)
工作签证要先选 "OTHER" 然后 TEMPORARY EMPLOYEE (H1, H2)

依附人申请签证，须列明主申请人的信息。

有了日程表的同学，列明航班、空港及停留地点。

下面问的在美停留期间的住址，不是说你到时候一定要呆的地方。

费用负担人可以是本人、他人或公司。不是本人负担的话，还需要列明负担人的信息，以及与本人的关系。

5. Travel Companions Information （随行人员）

即使是父母同签，但不是同行，也不答 "Yes".
除非是一个航班，或随团，方属"同行"。你还需要列出同行人的信息。
这里的同行人员并不意味着不需要自己的单独签证，也不意味着申请签证不需另外纳费。

6. Previous U.S. Travel Information （以往的美国旅行）
如果你是第一次申请美国签证，下面三问答 "No" 就完事了。

1. Have you ever been in the U.S.? 是否到过美国
你需要请提供最近五次的赴美信息。记不全的话，一定要答最近一次的。

在美联系人通常是你的亲戚、邀请人、学校、公司或预定的旅馆。返美的话，填自己也行。

上述的这些亲戚中，只有在美的才填写（指明关系及身份）。不是正在美国的话，提都甭提。

Do you have any other relatives in the United States? 如果上述亲戚中无人在美，还需简单回答是否有其他一般亲戚在美（不问身份）。

如果你的 Sign and Submit Application 键是灰色而不能点击，那一定是你在前面的两次上传照片的机会中，没有把握住任何一次。如果你手头没有数码照片，老师给你准备了一张 (下载 link)，保证一试就 failed 掉 (Illumination appears to be poor). 这样，你就可以选 "Continue Without a Photo"，然后去提交申请了。

在线提交之后，将产生一个带条形码的页面。请打印出来。如果你是代填表格，而需要传递，最好是存成 PDF 文件，或扫描。
如果该页面上未带本人照片，需要将两寸见方 (51 mm x 51 mm) 的照片，贴于条形码页面的 "X" 处。
你的面试需要这张带带条形码的打印页面。

在打印好确认页之后，你还需要在条形码上方的空白处手书（如图）：名字的电码（姓前名后依中文序），并用中文书写姓名、家庭地址、公司名字及地址。

你的签证费收据，附在条形码之下。

如果你的申请资料有变动，可以随时再填写一份。带上新的条形码打印页即可。旧的表格无人调阅。

虽然 DOS 没有说明申请表格在系统中将保留多久，但以往的做法是，用于签证的申请资料在一年之后就销毁了。

填写申请表格，只是申请签证的第一步。后面还有

1. 交纳签证申请费（须填写申请人信息）
2. 购买电话卡以预约签证时间（须持申请费收据）
3. 前往领馆面试（符合免面试之申请人必须使用代签服务）
