这部影片尝试再现摇滚史上传奇人物KURTCOBAIN自杀前的最后时光，由以《男人的一半是男人》（MyOwnPrivateIdaho）、《心灵捕手》（GoodWillHunting）等片闻名国际的导演GusVanSant操刀制作完成。但导演声称，此片并非关于Nirvana的传记，而是塑造了一位与Cobine生平极为相似的音乐人Blake（MichaelPitt饰）作为片中主角来表现剧情。
