阿尔贝特.史怀泽（AlbertSchweitzer）1875年1月14日生于阿尔萨斯，是管风琴演奏家和巴赫专家，他拥有哲学、神学、医学博士学位。
史怀泽的前半生持有德国护照，一次世界大战后，故乡阿尔萨斯归还法国，他成为法国人。年轻时他从事布道、学术、音乐工作，1913年和妻子去非洲法属殖民地建立诊所，为当地人服务，直到去世。
