Father\'s Day - 2009

(2009-06-23 19:50:54) 下一个

Well, this year's Father's Day was after the school was already over, so Daddy didn't get those gift bags he usually gets from the kids which would include letters with nice things they said about Daddy and little gifts they made for Daddy. Well, hopefully the next Father's Day is before the school is over :).

The kids both wished Daddy a happy Father's Day after they got up in the morning. Olivia picked out a card for Daddy which says:

We are lucky to have a Dad like you…

someone who is interested in our lives

and who's there whenever we need a bit of advice or encouragement…

We can talk to you about anything,

and when we get together, it seems like we always have fun…

You're a great Dad, and we hope you have a wonderful day.

Happy Father's Day!

What this card says is really true. The kids love their dad as he has been there for them all the time and that's why Olivia is very sad after learning that Daddy will leave to work in another state for the next 6-12 months. She is the one who has the "hear to heart" talk with Daddy every night after the light is out. Even though it seems like Daddy's leaving has not registered in Evan's mind as to what exactly it means, I know for sure that both kids will miss Daddy dearly.

Like the past couple of years, we took Daddy out for dinner at a nice Mexican restaurant to satisfy his crave for Mexican food which the rest of us are not big fan of. Daddy had a great dinner. Olivia presented the card to Daddy during dinner and both kids gave Daddy a hug and a kiss.

I feel bad that we didn't do a lot for Father's Day this year but next year we will do better!:)
