Christmas Tree Decoration

(2007-12-13 18:19:00) 下一个

We put up the Christmas tree in our living room this past Sunday but didn't get a chance to do the decoration. So on Monday night, Olivia and Evan had been bugging Daddy ever since they came home to take the ornaments out so they could decorate the tree.

We made them wait after dinner; they were so excited about it that right after Daddy took out the boxes with all the ornaments, they started to work on it and Daddy got distracted and went to do something else. I had to work that night to meet a deadline so I was upstairs the whole time until Daddy called me from downstairs when it was about bed time for the kids.

"Come down, mommy, you've got to take a look at this." He insisted.

I went downstairs and saw the blue light sparking through the Christmas tree and it was all decorated up to about 2/3 of its height. The tree looked pretty but I wondered what was so special about it that Daddy had to ask me to come down.

Then Daddy took me to the back of the tree. Ah-ha! It turned out that there was no single ornament on the other side of the tree! What's more, they didn't use the little hooks for the ornaments. All the ornaments including the glass balls were just hanging there, some of them barely grabbed a pine needle! Wow, I could see a lot of frustrations just trying to secure those glass balls on the tree. If you give this Christmas tree a little shake, probably half of the ornaments will fall offJ.

When asked why they only decorated the front side of the tree, Evan said: "Because when Santa comes to this room, he can only see the front of the tree and he can't see the back. So we decorated the front to make it look pretty."

I guess that does make sense buddy J.
