Category - 类别

noun 名词

• a class or division of people or things regarded as having particular shared characteristics. 同一类别的事或人有一些共同特征。
• one of a possibly exhaustive set of classes among which all things might be distributed. 类

Catalog - 目录

• noun - a complete list of items, typically one in alphabetical or other systematic order. 按字母顺序的完整目录。比如商品价目。
• verb - make a systematic list of (items of the same type)。做目录

两个例子:

• Categories organize the items in a sales catalog.  
• A sales catalog organizes items into different categories.
