As a Frenchman I live right between the USA and China and I can say that a lot of what has come to us from the USA for decades is extremely vulgar and violent, while what has come from China for millennia is remarkably refined and deep. Between Hemingway and Lao Tzu, I prefer Lao Tzu. Between one of these rappers dripping with hatred and Huo Zun I prefer Huo Zun. Of course, in China as elsewhere, governments are guilty of horrors and no social system is perfect, but it seems that the daily life of the Chinese people is more decent than in the USA, Europe, Russia, India, Africa, etc. The only European country as clean and safe as China is probably Switzerland. But there are 4 or 5 million Swiss people... not 1 and a half billion. The genius of China is in this difference. Just one less touch of authoritarianism from the government... and this country would look like a utopia.

@hongdeli6148“Utopia”was used here as the opposite of "dystopia”and not in the sense of illusory fantasy. So, that was a compliment... maybe even an exaggerated one. Regarding "hate for America" I'm not sure I understood what you meant, but let's say one of the biggest problems in the world today is on the contrary "love for America". The whole world, not only Europe but including China, is corrupted by the influence of the "American way of life" which is, after industrialization started 250 years ago in the UK, responsible for global warming and biosphere's collapse, without mentioning various cultural habits harmful to mental health. If the world truly hated what came from America, traditional civilizations would not be disappearing. Today China is trying to do better than what it did before, but above all trying to do better than America. And “better than America” means “like America.” Traditional China invented everything in the ancient world... except planes, cars, trains, telephone, radio, television, refrigerator, etc. In other words the Spirit of China was not naturally oriented towards this technology which is destroying the planet and comes from the West. But today Chinese people dress in suits and jeans, work or live in skyscrapers, listen to rock or rap, drink Coca-Cola, etc. And you say you hate America? Even communism, OK that's not American but... it's originally from the West (Marx was not born in Shanghai). And this ideology is one of the Western ways to finally promote materialism. Personally, I love traditional China, a China balanced between materialism and spirituality, cradle of Taoism, Ch'an, Qi Gong, Yi King, traditional medicine and food, Kong Fuzi, Li Bai, Du Fu, Beijin Opera... Even today I prefer Huo Zun or Li Yu Gang to Hua Chen Yu or Huang Ma, too westernized. Unfortunately, China, like Europe or even India, is becoming more and more American. But let's not be too pessimistic, Tradition is not yet totally dead. Just seriously parasitized by American way of life. Now, my hope ? May China, considering nature as sacred, succeed in converting the poisonous technologies of the West into ecological technologies capable of saving the planet. If China does this, then it will become the world's leading power for a long time. Yes I mean here, the "Utopia” is just in bad side. Could please tell your major and working field. China is a human civilization that originated by using ritual and music system and Confucianism to culture people how to behave as people. The West is a inhuman civilization based on European plundering and killing culture that originated by various fabricated Gods brainwashing people to have teared humanity and society hatred part, so that people in which are hating and killing of each others with warlike genes in taking looting and killing others as a matter of course.
@JohnSmith-sm7ez Well, I shouldn't have started my comment with "As a Frenchman", because, in my mind, only my passport is French. Actually, I'm someone who despises nationalisms and borders. For me, the human species is one, and even just barely different from the chimpanzee species. So, territories, alpha males leading the herds and competitions are animal things. It is dangerous because these animals, endowed with monstrous logical-mathematical faculties, have nukes instead of sticks and stones, but apart from this unfortunate detail I limit myself to observing the world scene without identifying too much with France and others national fantasies. The borders are just in your imagination, but because of this sick imagination the herds divide, fight each other, and China, USA, France or whatever becomes realities lived by poor people confusing their thoughts with the reality. Now, from your medical perspective, let me tell you that without the various pollutions, without industrial food and chemical treatments of plants, without the hellish lifestyle, etc., we would not need these treatments as much. Humans and vegetables don't really live anymore, they are just kept alive by constant treatments. Indeed, there is something to be proud of !
@hongdeli6148 No, the West is not a civilization, it's just barely a society. A civilization is what unites individual differences around a common ontological perspective. The West is exactly the opposite, a machine for destruction of traditional structures. A system for endless divisions. Please note: I'm not saying that this isn't useful. Conservation and destruction, continuum and impermanence, are the two dynamics that make the world go round. But we must not confuse the roles : West is not a civilization, it's a big sponge that erases the picture waiting for a new painting.
As for religiosity in general, and Abrahamic religions in particular, it is probably one of the biggest human problems. This problem is belief, in other words the thought that believes itself to be reality. The confusion is enormous and dramatic. But the human species seems too immature to discriminate between thought and reality. From there come fanaticism, sectarianism, dogmatism, etc. What to do ? My work field ?
