This is the first I have ever heard of this extraordinarily brave lady. I salute her and what she did for freedom and justice. The world is better for having had her in it

Thanks for this brilliant piece of unknown history for a lot of us, who sadly take all these heroes for granted, and their selfless actions. We owe the freedom and liberties we enjoy today to all of them; unfortunately nowadays, we have treacherous governments that are selling our priceless freedom and we're are too coward to do anything about it! Nancy Wake was a great woman, a heroine, way ahead of her time! God bless her soul!

Often I wonder if some how my generation would be so different had we endured life during war time. I think it would be few and far between to find one like Mrs Wake from my generation. Maybe somewhere.. It pains me to think of how we are these days. So many who dont know what it means to really sacrifice ones life and trully understand loss. We get people like those who chose to comment about the bandana on buddies head and disrespect the memory of this woman and desicrate this comment section... Just an example of why Im often embarassed by my generation. Where are the Nancy Wakes of 2020's? Some where Im sure but far and few between. Im honored to know of this woman and will always remember what I learned here today and try to remember her sacrifices that allowed our freedom. I would have liked to meet her... All we can do is remember..?

This brave, brutally honest, caring, compassionate, amazing, beautiful, talented, and a fierce woman is more than a hero. She needs to be a role model to these kids of today; to stand up for those who cannot do it themselves, don't back down from fear, and stand for what you believe. What she had accomplished was nothing short of a saint, and what she had done definitely changed the way that WWII went. We should all pay homage to this wonderful woman, and I know that IF we all took a page from her book, we would all destroy terrorism and the terrorists. God bless Ms. Wake! I know that she's unable to read this but thank you for everything that you had done for not only the French, the Jews, the British, but also America. Women, like Ms. Wake, should be talked about, taught about, and honored. She was, in a way, way ahead of her time and maybe even a feminist, in her own personal way. Young girls across the globe should be looking towards her for inspiration, not Beyonce or Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama or any of these wannabe heroes. RIP Ms. Wake! Thank you for your brave service, and for being a great role model to all women all over the world

credit where credit is due .my salute to prince charles . the story goes like this . nancy went back to the uk to die and had her favourite drinking spot in london at some upmarket hotel .she was a bit of a fixture there with HER OWN chair at the bar that was always reserved for her . she ran out of brass or was very short or was way behind . charlie heard about it ,invited her down to the palace for a cup of tea and a chat and ended up footing the bill to the end . so good on ya charlie.from an irreligious ,irreverent aussie ,who doesn't respect titles for titles sake ,but like martin luther king jr so eloquently put it . respected and admired and followed for the content of their character
