However there’re 3 things you might want to pay attention to:

1. V – It seems you always use a W to replace a V sound.

2. TH – Both voiced and unvoiced sometimes are off in a sentence.

3. N – You tend to omit the N sound when it’s at the end of a word.

Lesson 16 Marriage

226. We’ve been married for fourteen years. -> V sounded like W.

227. Are you still married? - > You’re not alone. Lots of people have problem with L in “still”

228. They got married last year. -> TH is a bit off, sounded like Z.

229. We were married in a church. -> N not clear enough; word connection

230. We had a small wedding.

231. Next week is our twentieth anniversary.

232. We invited all our friends to the wedding. -> V again.

233. It’s nice to be married.

234. My wife is from Chicago.

235. We don’t want to have kids anytime soon. -> there should not be a “ə” sound between “have” and “kids”.

236. I cannot imagine spending the rest of my life with any one else. -> should be a short I; T should not be omitted and needs to connect to O.

237. Not many people can say that they’ve made it to their golden wedding anniversary.

238. There’s nothing sadder than a bitter divorce. -> both TH are off.

239. It was also good that they could easily agree how to fairly divide up the marital property.

240. Nevertheless, I still think it’s heartbreaking when a marriage splits up.
