Education, The Biggest Failure of All in China (1)

1. Elementary, who stole the heart and soul of our kids

The fate of failure started in elementary school, when the whole Communist entity try to fill the pure and innocent minds with lies and propagandas, with knowledge that is either too hard for the youngsters to understand but memorize without comprehension, or aimed only to get to the final goal-College. So elementary education is all about brain wash for the kids of our hope to become a ‘successor of Communist mind’ to the authority, and about academic excellence to go on to a higher education, then a successful life to most of the parents. No one gives a damn to the mental health, moral consciousness and much said than done to the physical development of the pupils. Limited attention has been paid to these components which are vital to a healthy early childhood development. Elementary Education to me has nothing to do with ideology, little to do with academic, but has everything to do with physically and mentally healthy developed future of a nation, or any nation. The sequence of priority in China is just about the opposite.

On top of all that, less than qualified teachers and educators, and/or even fakes are filled into the whole school system. It’s not uncommon that personal agendas often prevail over the right conscious of a teacher and an educator to teach and to educate. The kids are only following examples set by adults, particularly their parents and teachers. When they see stuff, stuff that I can give you a long list, done by their teachers and educators that are so different from or absolutely the opposite of what they are taught, you’d expect nothing but confusion, distrust, resentment, and eventually the very same behaviour as their teachers and educators. It won’t take a lot to influence the innocent mind, to corrupt their moral consciousness, and to give up their trust and belief in honesty, justice and good deed.

I f you ever paid attention to the kids in China and compare their facial expression with the kids who lived here in North America, I bet you noticed an expression of worry, indifferent, too early a maturity with sadness from the kids in China, and much genuine, innocent, curious faces with smile from the heart from the kids here in general, Chinese or not.

What’s wrong with our kids in China? Their innocent heart and soul were stolen. They are depressed by unreasonable if not inhuman school works demanded by the school and their parents; their personal curiosities and interests are suppressed in priority to academic excellence. They are ignored of their emotional and mental need from their parents and their educators. They are fed up with all the lies and propagandas they are told, and they lost their faith on honesty, fairness, and good deed for they only follow examples set by their parents, teachers and educators, and the society as whole.

There are lot of other things that are corrupting the young and innocent mind, such as poverty in vast numbers of Chinese, unprecedented social unfairness, the tremendous pressure on sheer survival of so many people that even including some so called middle class among the various large cities, little to none educational resources in the wide spread remote and rural areas, etc. These are all the very results of a crooked political system, which is also the very one if you really have to answer the question: who stole the heart and soul of our kids.

Note: The author is only expressing his view of the Education System in China based on common sense and observation as a non educator, non social worker, non politician, nor an economist. This is not intended for research or political correctness. So keep that in mind when you read it or wish to comment on it. Thank you so very much for stopping by my place.
