　　倘若一首歌获得当年的最佳单曲还不够证明它的成功的话，那透过无数歌手的翻唱背书或许就能够突显其价值了吧 "Ain't No Sunshine"一首R&B的翻唱经典 原唱和作曲者都是Bill Withers 最早在1971年Bill Withers的第一张专辑Just As I Am 出现 获得了当届葛莱美的最佳R&B歌曲 除了这首以外Bill Withers分别在 1981和1987以"Just the Two of Us"以及"Lean on Me"三度获得最佳葛莱美最佳R&B歌曲 听过Ain't No Sunshine的朋友 透过歌曲中的幽昂低吟 你能想像Bill Withers小时后患有严重的口吃吗？多亏了国家，Bill Withers在服役时接受了矫正 我们才能听到他在三十几岁时发行的第一张唱片 "Ain't No Sunshine"作为首支单曲 销售成绩一发行即衝上当月全美第三名。
　　出身低的Bill Withers尚未出道前,白天就在飞机公司上班，晚上则在家录Demo寄到各唱片公司,一直要到32岁，Bill Withers才开始了他的演艺生涯,而Bill Withers一点都不隐蔽过去，他的另外一首更广为人知的代表作"Lean On Me"，歌中主题正是他与飞机公司同事的情谊"Lean On Me"出自Bill Withers的第二张专辑「Still Bill,同样也是获得了葛莱美奖的最佳R&B歌曲,并蝉连全美销售冠军长达三个礼拜,甚至在1981年由Morgan Free演出的电影「Lean On Me」(Movie)(IMDb给予7.0的高评价)中既是电影名称也是主题曲。
