剧情简介：

当代著名清谈节目《有一说一》主持人严守一工作上遇到了很大的危机。因为原先支持他的主管节目的老总退位了，新换来的段总一味追求收视率，使得原先的节目定位和风格开始摇摆。严守一和总策划费墨想尽快提高节目的收视率又能保持节目原来的风格，但是找不到方法。

这时在严守一的老家——河南严家庄，牛三斤他爹去世了，严守一从哥哥黑砖头的家乡来电里得知了这一消息，不禁勾起了他少年时期跟表嫂吕桂花去打电话的一段记忆。吕桂花是牛三斤的媳妇，严守一十一岁的时候，曾经跟吕桂花去镇上给在三矿工作的牛三斤打过一次电话。那次打电话的内容在三矿流传成了一首歌谣：牛三斤/牛三斤/你的媳妇叫吕桂花/吕桂花让问一问/最近你还回来吗？

在主持人的台词培训班上，离婚后的严守一认识了开朗热情的台词教师沈雪。两人互相被吸引。在沈家的步步紧逼下，严守一和沈雪到了谈婚论嫁的地步。但在严守一带沈雪回老家见奶奶的时候，严守一得到了一个令他震惊的消息，这一消息使得严守一和沈雪的关系又紧张起来……
