Where Are We In The Bible?

Q.   I have been an avid reader of your blog and books for many years – Thank you for the great amount of learning that you have provided to all of us. Today at my weekly church service I was listening to my pastor talk about the wonderful story of grace that the bible explains, and then he asked a question that made me really think. He asked the congregation, “Where are we currently in the wonderful story of the bible?”  He then opened the bible to the page that was just between Jude and Revelation. Do you think is this correct?  Are we just in the before or just into the beginning of Revelation?

A.  I believe  Rev.2-3 is an overview of the Church Age, Rev. 4-5 describe the rapture of the Church, Rev. 6-19 detail the 70th Week of Daniel, and Rev. 20-22 are about the millennium.  Therefore I would say we’re nearing the end of Rev. 2-3. The evangelical church (represented by the letter to Philadelphia) is steadily being overtaken by the apostate “emerging” church (the letter to Laodicea) indicating the rapture will soon take place.

Running Out of Time?

Q.  Is there anywhere in scripture that says Daniel’s 70th week will begin immediately following the Rapture, or could, say 5 or 10 years go by after the Rapture but before the beginning of the 70th week?

A.  As we progress toward the End of the Age a pre-determined agenda of events have to unfold in an ever shorter period of time. If you believe, as I do, that in Matt. 24:34 Jesus told us the generation of people being born at the time Israel was re-born would still be alive when He returns, and that in Psalm 90:10 Moses said an average lifespan would be 70-80 years (as it is today) then you can conclude that the 2nd Coming is near.  Using 1948 as Israel’s birth date and the outer limit of Psalm 90:10 puts it sometime around 2028.  Subtracting 7 years for Daniel’s 70th Week would bring us to 2021.

I believe the rapture can literally happen any day now. If it happens today (please, God) there would be 8 years before the beginning of Daniel’s 70th week.  All this is hypothetical of course, but demonstrates that the world is quite probably running out of time.
