The dominance of insurance companies over the lives of so many people, forcing them into emergency rooms at the expense of the general populace, will bankrupt the country. The nation's increasing dependence on foreign sources of fuel, such as oil, will bankrupt the country. Global warming, which will wreak havoc on the United States's agricultural and transportation infrastructure, will bankrupt the country. Unregulated banks taking money without accountability or consequences will bankrupt the country. A regressive tax policy that places more of the tax burden on the middle and working class than on the upper class will bankrupt the country. Your comment exemplifies the portrayal of the Republicans as the "party of no". The Republicans's singleminded goal is to block every piece of legislation sponsored by the Democratic majority. They don't care about discussing the issues at all. For all their talk of military hegemony, they were willing to block funding for the military in order to stall the Senate vote on health care. For all their talk of national security and patriotism, they were willing to use the December 25th attempted bombing as a scare tactic to fundraise.
