THE OCEAN Santa Cruz 2008.04.25. From San Francisco to Santa Cruz through #85 and #17. We planned 2 days to go from Santa Cruz to Ventura, a town outside of LA. Therefore we had plenty of time to drive-stop-shoot-drive on California highway #1 along the west coast. 1. Santa Cruz 1. 2. Santa Cruz 2. 3. Santa Cruz 3. 4. Monterey. Monterey: 17 Mile Drive. There was a rock named “China Point”. When I asked a Montery man for the meaning of “Lean-to Tent” described in the brochure, he told me some other stories about the early Chinese settlers. “You can find a lot of connections with China”, that man commented. 5.
