How to land a job in USA from Canada?

I just got layoff last month after a couple of years of working as analytical chemist in an environmental lab in an Atlantic province in Canada. As all know that the job chances in Canada are very few compared with in USA. So, I am going to seek a analytical chemsit job in USA. I possess Canadian citizenship and an MSc degree awarded in Canada. The two items, I feel, should be convenient for me to get a TN visa if hired by a potential US employer. Now, my question is if it is necessary for me to add such words in my resume for increasing the opportunities of being considered by USA employers: I have a willingness to afford by myself the relocation expenses if hired? What I concern about most is how to attract the USA recruiters' attention, for which I can even afford by myself the costs of an on-site interview! Please XDJM in USA advise me...
