说起纽约的犹太人，说起Lower East Side, 一下子就想到了在WilliamsBurg Bridge阴影下的Orchard Street. 在纽约的时候,特别喜欢看到杂志介绍什么地方好玩,就周末背个小包晃过去.

比如说,这个Orchard Street. 看到不知道哪篇文章的介绍，说是那里是Bargain Heaven，尤其是有个SHop是专卖Movie Props 家具的. 想到若是能和谁谁吹俺的这个垫子是某某星星做过的（哇，Titanic里面Rose靠的那个？？ 做梦啊！） 多美啊。。俺顿时来了兴致。某个不冷不热的星期天，俺在Chinatown吃饱喝足，沿着Grant Street踱将过去。 走了没多远，街上的牌子就已经很兴高采烈的宣布:Orchard市场区。看看周围，除了几家巴基斯坦人/犹太人/阿拉伯人 （我总也搞不清）开的电器店，还没有什么吗。店主老兄热情地站在门口：“MY FRIEND, COME IN" 这不会是俺哥们说得卖他Grey Market电器的那位吧．．．　
继续晃，拐上Orchard。瓦，好热闹，街市呢．　路边那些小楼房，看着都很古旧的．街当中就是Tenement Museum,好像是那时候爱尔兰，德国难民住的地方。。　五六个人一间屋子的平民窟。好像要收钱，探了探头，不去也罢．　那个家具店怎么也没找到，路边还有几家比较异类的酒吧。还有好些卖衣服，卖皮包，皮鞋，皮衣的。哇哇，尤其是几家Corset的专卖店啊，什么年代啦，还有这么多人穿Corset啊？　价钱也不低，但是顾客们都在热烈的讨价还价，看看打扮，好多都是犹太人的样子．．．　

容纳了一代又一代新移民的老房子，桥上的汽车声，火车声，想到那些讲述十九世纪故事的侦探小说．看着充满希望辛苦努力的人们，想起了Neil Diamond在这里写的歌。。。
