PostInterview Question

I live in the midwest and want to move to the coasts. I interviewed in a company in CA, a contryman told me that they put me in hold until they are done with interviewing other candidates. Do I still have hope?

I also interviewed with a company in the Boston area. The manager is Lao In, who asked me since I do not have industry experience, can I start with more junior level. My situation is BS/MS from USTC, US PhD, many yesrs research experience, relevant to the job. Recently finished GC process. I told him since I know what the job is about, and I am confident to start with the senior level. He told me to think about the salary range and let him know in about a week. I know from the recruitor that the budget is $80-90k, and I am trying to get $100k. Shall I tell him what I want? My first priority is trying to get the offer, though. Thanks for warm hearted suggestions.

Just something interesting: The manager in company B showed me some patent document of company A and asked me what the pros and cons of the design. I could not answer him right away, but on the way home, I had some idea and sent him an email right away when I am home. Do you think this will help?_:o
