Girl's night out

My friend's daughter, who is 15, came to stay with us last night. After dinner, I needed to do grocery shopping so I took her and my girl to Ranch Market. What fun it was for me.

My boys are 13 and 11 but they are so not into conversation. It is always a pain to get some opinions out of them. Their answers are always short and reluctant, rarely sends signal to encourage me continue. My girl is super talktive but talk mostly nonesense due to her age. It is refreshing to have a young lady who chats girly stuff with me, most importantly a young mind to listen to my lectures about life, relationship and won't get annoyed :)

We bought a lot of snack food, even tiramisu pieces and ate them late in the evening (a big no no for figure conscious girls like us, but hey, what the heck, they tasted wonderful). My little girl enjoyed a big sister as well, as least she didn't get brushed away like from the brothers.

This girl is also a mix child, whose mom is Shanghainese and Dad white. She got into 青春偶像剧 so now very good in Maderine and totally understand 上海话。We read Chinese jokes together and watched Scrubs and laughting hilariously together.

What a wonderful night!
