这项试验由马里兰大学医学院的 Eric Manheimer 主导，研究团队把试验结果刊登在2008年2月7日出版的英国医学期刊 (British Medical Journal)。研究团队一共做了七项试验，里面包括1366位接受试管受精的妇女，这些妇女分别来自美国、德国、澳大利亚、丹麦。

文章结论说∶针灸可以使试管受精率提高65%。
