in high school. When she told me, it did not surprise me.We had a long talk seriously.
Actually I was glad that she told me and shared her high school life with me and I told her my feeling as well.
I told her that a date is not highest priority in her high school life and do not take the date too seriously. She agreed with me.
It is just kind of experience. She needs to learn how to deal with boys.
She told me that children change dates every two months in average.
When her date came to my home, my hubby and my son said that he is not too tall. Bala bala. My D asked me why I did not say anything.
I told her that I do not care if who he is and how he looks and behaves now, I only care who is my future son-in-law 10 years later.
American parents’reaction is completely opposite compared to our Chinese parents. the boy’ family is eager to meet my D since she was first girl their son mentioned at home. Both his parents stopped by my home to pick my D up when children had concert at downtown since their boy could not drive with others yet.
When children were having concert, they hanged in Art Museum and sat in a coffee shop for more than 5 hours for waiting for children. I did not think that they take this kind of prelateship seriously, but it showed their son that his parents are proud of him and respect him as a man.
I think that your hubby needs to talk your son as man-to-man. congrate him and Understand him, then guide him.
I thought we need to treat kids as friends when they are in high school. My D and I went out to have lunch together sometimes. We talked a lot topic as friends.
I really learnt a lot from her. their high school life is totally different from ours. And the same time I passed my life experience to her too( included how to deal with boys) We both are happy with our communication.
