From the end result, people didn\'t watch the game would have assumed a cake walk, yet again. What\'s up with this new/old Knicks team? Are they making a habit of blowing up opponents? In reality, it was hard fought for 31/2 quarters. But from the tip off, Knicks had the game in full control. They went on offensive, right out of the gate. 9/11 field goals in the first quarter, that\'s some incredible efficiency.

Lin sank 2 FTs in the first quarter, but he did have 4 assists. Good passing are contegious - as old as the cliche is, it\'s still true. Especially for this Knicks team, when Melo and Amare are buying it, and willing to make extra pass. The game becomes a lot easier for the team, especially for themselves. As a PG, Lin has anchored the offense. Participation leads to Responsibilities. When Melo gets his touches early, he appreciates that, and shows you his energy in other parts of the game - rebounding, defending, and passing.

The most impressive thing in this game to me, is the defensive intensity. The whole team worked a lot harder on defense, especially on-man defense and boxing out. Those were 2 key ingredients missing from the 6-game losing skid. They always switched on PnR under D\'Antoni, which has led to lots of mis-matches - like quick small guards facing Tyson or Amare way out there, or smaller guards like Lin or JR guarding opponent power forwards. Now they are not doing that many switches, but put in extra effort to fight through the pick, instead of going under the pick, and stick to own men. Most noteworthy, Lin\'s on-man defense has been improving almost game by game. Comparing to 15 games ago, when I lashed out on his clueless running on double or help defense, he\'s now a lot more concentrated and focused. He followed Calderon all over the place, and didn\'t let him do much under his watch.

Lin has quietly put up a 18-10 game. Most of his points were either from spot-up open shots or free throw line. Just think about it, how easy is that, comparing to throwing himself into the giants and throwing up a circus shot? Ball always outruns men. When the ball is moving, when opponents are rushing to double or help for mis-matches, there will be teammates open. There are your open shots. I like that kind of plays.

Knicks may not have those ultra super duper mega stars, but that\'s a very very deep team. As Lin said in the post game interview, they could wear teams down with their depth. Yes, players like JR, Novak, BD, could give you a lift from the bench. From the starting lineup, really, when Tyson is getting 12-15 points a game, you know how much they are sharing, especially from Lin, your point guard. If he can do that, why would anyone worry about his job?

Communication is the key. They are definitely talking to each other, on the court and on the bench. Chemistry is developing rapidly. As the saying goes, winning cures everything. Look how much fun they were having in the mid of 4th quarter. Everyone is passing, and everyone is high-fiving and chest-bumping. After Amare\'s swat to the second floor, he\'s shouting something like NOT in our house. Lin just gave him a hard push. Guess that\'s his way of Be Ghetto. That\'s the energy and swagger I want to see - the group is going to battle together.

Give the new coach credit that\'s he\'s communicating with the team, stars or bench. He\'s obviously found the right wavelength, and the team is buying and responding. Those are professional players, and they are capable of doing lots of things. If you can convince them to do it together in your way, and they go along, that will make wonders.

I don\'t want to over-analyze anything, but have fun and enjoy a good show. We should share their fun, Lin\'s fun, instead of worrying about all the potential hardships. I am actually a lot more confident in Lin than I was in him during that 7-game winning streak, because he\'s showing his strong ability in learning and adjusting, in a neck-breaking speed. Props to Lin and his improvement, especially at the defensive end and the control of the game.

As many has pointed out, during the Summer, I would love to see him to improve his mid-range jumper, and I know he will.

Cheers!
