钢琴 piano

An instrument with a manual keyboard actuating hammers that strike wire strings, producing sounds that may be softened or sustained by means of pedals.

一种乐器，用手操作键盘驱动打击钢丝线产生声音，可以通过踏瓣的方式调轻声音或使之持续不断。
由古钢琴和羽管键琴直接发展而成。十八世纪初(1709年)，意大利人克利斯托弗利在羽管键琴上采用带小槌的键盘机械。这样，在弹奏时可以随意变更小槌的敲击力，从而可以改变音量。十九世纪发展为“三角钢琴”和“立式钢琴”，新式大、小钢琴都有88个黑白键与三个踏板，音域自A2至c5。黑白键按十二平均律半音排列。钢琴的音域宽、音量大，音色变化丰富，弹奏时可快速重复击弦发音，可以改变音量，可演奏多声部结构的音乐作品，演奏技巧比较复杂，是主要的独奏与伴奏乐器，同时也可以合奏，重奏或用于管弦乐队。用大谱表记谱，实际音高与记谱同。

羽管键琴（拨弦古钢琴） harpsichord

A stringed instrument resembling a grand piano but usually having two keyboards and two or more strings for each note and producing tones by the plucking of strings with plectra.

一种卧式竖琴型或梯形的键盘乐器，类似三角钢琴，但通常有两层键盘（部分为一层，及其个别亦有三层）和两套或更多的弦（每套发出不同音质的音），通过羽管或皮制拨子（拨子连接一顶重器，一般为一根直立的木杆）拨弦，赖琴键内端推动发声。
