一封巧妙的情书

明天是东方的元宵节和西方的情人节，美语坛的中西节日也将持续到这一天（请点击参加活动 ）。想起多年前，我在一本英语杂志上读到的一封巧妙的英语情书，一个小伙子爱上了一个姑娘，姑娘的父亲，却不同意小伙子和姑娘的恋爱，可是小伙子却对姑娘一往情深，小伙子给他心爱的姑娘写了一封情书，姑娘的父亲读了以后，非常地高兴，知道小伙子已经和他的女儿断绝了恋爱关系。而姑娘呢，读完信后，幸福洋溢着在她的脸上，她读到了小伙子对她的爱一如从前。
一封信，为什么会读出两种结果呢？这就是这封信的巧妙之处，请把这封读两遍吧，第一遍：先从头至尾读，这是小伙子专门写过姑娘的父亲看的；第二遍，隔行读，这是写给他心仪的姑娘的，下面是这封英语情书。背景歌曲《Rose》分别由Bette Midler和West Life演唱，小提琴演奏是André Rieu。歌中唱到：“Some say love, it is a river that drowns the tender reed; Some say love, it is a razor that leaves your soul to bleed; Some say love, it is a hunger, an endless aching need. I say love it is a flower, and you its only seed. ” 双节之际，祝福大家，幸福美好到永远。

My love for you I once expressed
no longer lasts, instead, my distaste for you
is growing with each passing day. Next time I see you,
