Olivia's is Getting Stranger's Phone Number Already?

(2011-11-03 17:17:00) 下一个

Well, regardless how we feel about it, Olivia is becoming a teenager and started her middle school this year! There are a couple of changes in her life. First, she works as a consoler in training in the after-school program at the elementary school she just graduated and got her tuition cut in half.  So technically, Olivia is now Evan's teacher at the after-school program. Second, Daddy got her a track phone which she is responsible for all charges associated with it.

Olivia loves her cell phone and carries it wherever she goes. A couple of weeks ago, at the dinner table, she told me that she got a boy's phone number on the school bus that morning.

"A boy's number already? What happened?" I was really surprised.

It turned out it was a boy who was in the same chorus with her at the school. He has a beautiful voice and is the first male vocal of the chorus – which made me realized who he wasJ. Olivia and him get on the school bus at the same bus stop.

"I think he likes me," Olivia said. "I could feel that he looked at me a lot when we were waiting for the bus."

"He was sitting right behind me across the aisle this morning and started to talk to me about the chorus stuff since, you know, we are both in the chorus. We talked and then out of nowhere he asked me: 'Do you want my number?' I was shocked a little as this was the first time someone asked me whether I wanted their number. I was like: 'ahhhh…okay.' I didn't really know what I should do. (I know Olivia is too nice to say "No."). I put his number in my cell, then he asked whether he could have my cell phone number. I can't really say no so now he has my number too.  The whole thing is kind of weird" She finished her story.

I could imagine exactly how Olivia felt at the time as this was the first time she exchanged a number with a "stranger". Well, someone is growing up and I guess there will be a lot more to come that I need to worry aboutJ.
