英中了解协会正在planning2027年的China tour

英中了解协会（SACU）正在planning2027年的China tour，以下两封电邮是我与其新头的交流：

I was able to attend the Chat about half hour last evening. As SACU as an NGO specialising UK and China, it is a shame to rely on others to provide it's China tour plan. My understanding from the Chat, members are interested in visiting following places: Chengdu, Xining, Xi'an, Beijing, Guilin, Chongqing, etc. I suppose the Tour can go direct return flights from Heathrow to Chengdu, and then take bullet trains going those places along uni-directional and back to Chengdu. With regards to some member's concern of seeing sights may disappear soon, I recommend Liuhe District old centre of Nanjing which will be re-developed in next 5 years. Before that, you can still see houses built before Chinese communist taking over the mainland. These are my feedback to the Chat.

 

By the way, the 2025 tour had Chinese contribution to the funding. If possible, SACU should avoid that, since the ordinary Chinese are sensitive to subsidying foreigners.

Thanks for the reply. Honestly, any tour preparation of China, if more than you do for USA, is self-imposed barrier. Nowadays, travels inside China cannot avoid taking bullet trains which cannot be booked two weeks before. Any UK tour operator for China cannot help. For this, you may need Chinese counter-part of SACU for personnel help, i.e to provide a tour assistant. This is different from subsidying in money. With regards to 2027 tour of China, this is too far ahead of me. My concerns are still within 2026. You can keep me posted. With regards to travel insurance, you can consult which magazine. I believe the organization has a web site.
