风雨送春归，

飞雪迎春到。

已是悬崖百丈冰，

犹有花枝俏。

 

俏也不争春，

只把春来报。

待到山花烂漫时，

她在丛中笑。

(Ode to Winter Sweet)

 

Tho’ wind and rain send spring away,

Spring shall return through swirling snow.  

Upon the cliffs sheathed in towering ice,

A fair flower still in full blow.

 

Tho’ fair, she vies not to claim spring,

“Spring is come” she but makes all know.

When all flowers blossom on the high hills,

Amid them her sweet smiles aglow.
