黃花 —（宋）朱淑真

 

土花能白又能红，晚节犹能爱此工。

宁可抱香枝上老，不随黄叶舞秋风。

 

Chrysanthemum by Zhu Shu-zhen (Soong Dynasty)

 

Though plain, in white or red, this flower blows,

Much more prized is its graceful twilit pose —

It ne’er dances like fading leaves in wind,

Instead, it still perfumes twigs till repose.
