池塘春草谢家春，万古千秋五字新。

传语闭门陈正字，可怜无补费精神。

“The vernal grassy pool” — Xie Ling-yun’s Spring,

O, for aye his five words, unstrained, they sing.

Yet Shih-tao forced his lines behind the door —

In vain, naught fair, though his brain he did wring.
