Han, the peasant, gains money and glory from his daughter’s marriage to the power in the capital due to Ximen’s connection,  for thanksgiving, Han encourages his wife to fool around with Ximen. However, his wife sees her brother is in the way, urges  Ximen to beat the in-law half death.

Ximen receives a horse as a gift from the Chief Assistant in the capital due to his match-making,  Ximen carries the reciprocity up and down around his networks.
