在第十八回里， 西门庆上了有罪必斩的黑名单，银子开路，进献当朝宰相蔡京太师， 随即名单上“西门”改成 “贾”，西门庆死里逃生。

人在山东的西门庆闻到皇城救命恩人蔡太师的寿辰，派人押送生日担礼到京都， 金壶玉盏， 精雕仙人，锦绣蟒衣，异果美酒。蔡老大喜，乡民西门庆怎无寸官， 即封为山东提刑所理刑副千户（山东省副法官）。 这时六妻瓶儿喜生贵子， 气得五妻金莲痛哭闭户。西门官禄临门，平地登云，给儿子取名官哥儿。

In Chapter 18, Ximen got to know Cai, a high ranking officer, because of his changing Ximen’s name on the Wanted List, free Ximen from execution.
