Fish bow Vase
If I knew it was that heavy
I would not have owned it
It looked so pure and crystal clear
Oval shape
from all angles I peer
I said it was a perfect fish bow
You agreed and said it was meant to hold flowers
I said the fish inside could swim far and near
You agreed and said flowers can brighten the air
I said when I fed the fish and his beta tails would appear
You agreed and said new bunches would be presented every here and there
I never got my fish
Although
I did enjoy your wish
Year after year
How could I know it was heavy?
You picked it up from a shelf
You filled it with fresh water
You took the withering roses out of the vase
You planted fresh bunches in the refilled container
Year after year
How could I know it was heavy?
I liked the green stems sitting in the glass
I loved the petals changing their colors
I was surprised it could even fit on our narrow windowsill
I cheered occasionally too
When it was even empty still
Year after year
I was never tired of looking at the ever blooming flowers
Though
I was a bit disappointed it never had moving tails
I couldn’t complain about your everlasting passion
I hated to see my interest diminishing
Yet
I had to admit it was a growing fact
Year after year
It was my fish bow!
I started to raise my voice
It was my fish bow!
I started to yell it was unfair
This time
It did not take a nano year
I couldn’t lift it
No more new waters
I couldn’t lift it
No more waggling tails
I couldn’t lift it
No more blooming flowers
No more blooming flowers
If I knew it was that heavy
I would not have fought over it
If I knew it was that heavy
I would rather let it be a Vase
Be a Vase
Holding flowers
Even better
Yet
If I knew it was that heavy
I would not have owned it
If I knew it was that heavy
I would not have owned it
